Journalist, Broadcaster, Author and Content Creator
I am a native British journalist based in Spain as well as a specialist content writer, broadcaster, events host, voice-over artist and marketing & PR strategist with more than 20 years’ experience.
I have worked as a reporter and a presenter for some of the world’s leading broadcasters such as BBC World, BBC News 24, ITV News, Sky News, Sky Sports, EuroNews, BBC Radio 5Live, BBC Radio 4, LBC, Capital FM and Heart FM.
I have covered a number of major global events including the 7/7 London bombings in 2005, the 2004 Tsunami and numerous sports events.
I moved to Barcelona in 2006 when I worked for Icon International, interviewing some of the leading sportsmen and women based in Spain including Leo Messi and (at the time) David Beckham. Following that, I worked in copywriting, PR and broadcasting.
In 2008 I established MumAbroad.com, which has grown to become one of Europe’s leading English language websites for international families living in or relocating to Spain, France, Italy and Germany.
In 2014, I was one of the co-founders of Bremain in Spain, which initially campaigned for a second referendum following the UK’s decision to leave the EU and has grown to become one of Europe’s leading voices protecting the rights of British citizens living in the European Union.
In 2017, I co-founded FiG Communications, a creative and communications agency, specialising in content creation, copywriting, video production. web design & development, digital marketing, graphic design and Public Relations. FiG has been the driving force behind several property marketing awards. I am also a member of Grit, supporting clients in developing persuasive messaging, communicating effectively under pressure, and creating and delivering engaging content.
I currently host my own radio show ‘The Soundtrack to My Life’ on Radio Kanal Barcelona 106.9 FM, every Friday morning from 11am-12pm. During the hour-long programme I get a chance to delve into the lives of ‘ordinary’ people thanks to the narrative provided by some of their powerful musical memories.
I have continued to freelance as a TV and radio broadcaster and producer in Spain, offering a Spanish viewpoint alongside some of the major European stories from the last decade.
I have worked with Carrie across numerous communications projects, and our clients often comment on the high level of professionalism she exudes at every step of the production process. A superb content writer and creator, I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Carrie to conquer any project, however large or small. Her attention to detail and the value-add she brings to projects is invaluable, often decoding complex client briefs, and producing top-end results fast and with high accuracy. And the bonus – a wonderful person to work alongside!

Having worked as an audio engineer recording Carrie for several projects now, I can say the experience is always refreshingly pleasing. You can tell she’s a real pro both from her ways with colleagues and clients in the studio, and from the final results on the projects she takes part in. Carrie manages to easily get the right tone for each particular job, always sounding like the professional Voice Over artist she is. On top of everything, she adds up as a kind and friendly presence in the studio that makes any session smooth and easy going as challenging as it might be.
